01/19/21 Update: Coronavirus and our dental office

January 19, 2021

To our Patients, Family and Friends,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. It has almost been a year since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Many of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines with the distribution of the vaccine. We want to assure you that our commitment to your safety has remained constant during these unprecedented times. We are happy to announce that we have had no reported COVID exposures resulting from treatment in our facility.

Your safety remains a top priority for our office. Our infection control processes are in place so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. Our office continues to follow infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and local guidelines so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to the recommendations.

We would like to remind you of some of the measures we are taking to help protect our patients and staff.

    • Screening questions before, during and after your appointment
    • Non-contact temperature readings
    • Available hand sanitizer
    • Mobile patient check-in
    • Social distancing practices for appointments and waiting times
    • Enhanced protection using CDC approved P.P.E.
    • Frequent disinfection of common and high use surfaces
    • Designated appointment times for high-risk patients

We look forward to seeing you and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at (719) 596-9220 or visit our website at www.jareddastrupdds.com

Thank you for being a part of our dental family. We value your trust and loyalty and always look forward to seeing our patients, neighbors and friends.

Sincerely,

Jared Dastrup DDS and Team

05/06/20 Update: Coronavirus and our dental office

May 06, 2020

To our Patients, Family and Friends,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal
habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

  • Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
  • We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
  • You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
  • We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at (719) 596-9220 or visit our website at www.jareddastrupdds.com

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.

Sincerely,

Jared Dastrup DDS and Team

03/19/20 Update: Coronavirus and our dental office

March 19, 2020

To our Patients, Family and Friends,

For the safety and well-being of everyone in our community, for the upcoming weeks, I have decided to limit my practice to emergency and urgent care only.  This is in compliance with universal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), American Dental Association (ADA), and Colorado Dental Association (CDA) instructions.

During this time of social distancing, please know I am still available.  If you are experiencing dental pain, or have a dental emergency, please call me first. If you go to the emergency room, you will likely be met with extremely long wait times, high costs, and little to no treatment.

You can reach me directly at (719) 238-1190.  For non-emergency issues, please call or text the office (719) 596-9220.  If you don’t reach us immediately, we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

While we had hoped to continue to provide care to our patients during this pandemic, we understand that it is our responsibility as health care providers to do our part, and closely follow official instructions.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate through these challenging days. We pray for your continued health and look forward to seeing you soon!

Dr. Jared Dastrup

03/17/20 Update: Coronavirus and our dental office

To our Patients, Family and Friends,

Our office remains open and in response to the current outbreak of COVID-19, Coronavirus, we at Jared Dastrup DDS would like to assure you that we are committed to your safety and wellbeing. We have and will continue to practice the precautions as mandated by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

We are taking extra precautions by sanitizing door handles, pens, seats, etc. multiple times a day. We will be wearing masks in times that we normally would not, please excuse this impersonal touch, but this is for your safety as well as ours.

We have also implemented a virtual waiting room. When you arrive for your appointment, if you prefer to wait in your car, simply call or text our front desk at (719) 596-9220. We will respond in kind to let you know when it is time to come directly back to the operatory. If you prefer to fill out paperwork from your car, we will bring out all of the paperwork to you. You can also find all the paperwork on our website www.jareddastrupdds.com

Given the uncertainty of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have an understanding with all our team members that they will stay home if they show any signs of illness. We are requesting you reschedule your appointment if you can answer yes to any of the following questions:

  • Have you traveled internationally in the past 15 days?
  • Have you come into contact with anyone who has traveled internationally in the past 15 days?
  • Have you come into contact with anyone who has tested positive for the coronavirus?
  • Have you or any household member been to the mountains since March 7?
  • Do you currently have a cold?
  • Have you been sick in the past 14 days?
  • Do you currently have a fever?
  • Have you had a fever in the past 14 days?

Again, our first priority remains the safety of our patients and team members. We pray for your continued health and look forward to seeing you soon!
